Amolee | Crafting gentle, high-quality products that nourish the body

A shrub and a boost of flower power to sooth your dry skin. It’s a triple-oil trifecta!

Skin, the largest organ of the body, is our interface between the internal and external environment. Among its many vital functions, it serves as a protective barrier. The most superficial area, the epidermis, acts as the body’s semi-permeable frontline defense and it must be kept healthy and moist.

Dry, dull skin is one of the most common conditions that affects people of all ages. Proper care of the skin barrier is therefore critical, otherwise dryness can lead to discomfort. At Amolee R&D we have uncovered the skin-boosting benefits and restorative powers of 3 key seed oils. One of the oils is extracted from a woody evergreen shrub and the other two from flowers. In the perfect ratio, this trifecta provides a powerful, but gentle formulation that sooths and heals dry, sensitive skin.

Do you want to know the secret ingredients? We’re happy to share the information with you! It comes down to some basic flower power (Sunflower and Safflower) with a boost from the Jojoba (pronounced ho-ho-bah) plant.  Here’s the scoop.

First up, sunflowers. The antioxidant-rich (vitamin E) seed oil of these lovely summer blooms is effective at protecting and moisturizing dehydrated complexions. This exceptional emollient (meaning it softens and soothes the skin) is high in concentrations of fatty acids that include Omega-6. What’s so great about this? They decrease inflammation and keep the skin barrier healthy by reducing water loss. And why is it so important? These lipids (or naturally occurring fats) are part of the outer layer of the skin. Known as ceramides, they are essential in increasing skin moisture and improving barrier function. They are critical aids in rebuilding and maintaining a healthy skin barrier.

Next is safflower seed oil. Its superpower? A natural, antimicrobial and moisturizer, this oil helps combat acne and blemishes! Rich in protective antioxidants, its anti-inflammatory effects help promote wound healing and combat blackheads and whiteheads. Coupled with a unique composition of fatty acids, linoleic acids, and oleic acids, safflower seed oil is profoundly moisturizing and soothing. An added plus, it’s well tolerated by pretty much all skin types, and it will not clog your pores!

Rounding up the trifecta is Jojoba seed oil. Better described as a type of botanical wax, it is very similar to the composition of our natural skin oils. Jojoba combines the benefits of both sunflower and safflower seed oils that are very effective at controlling acne. It also absorbs quickly and deeply into the skin and also has very high levels of ceramides that help the skin retain moisture. An added benefit? It is the prefect ingredient to help protect the skin from harsh weather conditions.

The unique combination of these biochemical ingredients in our Amolee Moisturizing Cream for Sensitive Skin gives our formulation supernatural powers to combat dry, dull, inflamed, and even acne-prone skin. Now that’s a resounding wow! Why not give our cream try?
